You hear about it all the time, when the weather gets hot and people are out and being so busy, busy, busy, that at one time or another you get somebody who feels weak, light-headed, or faints. It’s actually very common and often the result of some form of exhaustion, dehydration, or heat stroke. And it can happen just about anywhere and come without much warning.
Heat-induced illnesses are commonly recognized by symptoms of dizziness, rapid breathing, sweating, weak pulse, and muscle pains or aches. It is easy to overlook these symptoms of tiredness but if you know that you or the person you’re with is suffering these, have them sit down and take a few minutes resting time.
However if it comes suddenly then you will want to act fast, especially if the person is unresponsive. While the chances of this being a serious problem are slimmer than most other sudden attacks, you don’t want to leave anything up to chance. That’s when you should call trusted ambulance services. They act expediently to get the person to the medical center and they can come equipped with the right medical gear– just request that they bring materials for the patient to hydrate them.
Patient transport is important for sudden attacks because you don’t want to waste time. Always have contact information on hand so you can call whenever it happens.
